Help Us Renew Our Religious Education Building! Our Religious Education Building has been an important part of our parish community for many years, providing a place for our children, teens, families, and adults to learn, gather, and grow together. A few years ago, the building experienced a mold issue caused by water entering through several areas of the roof. The necessary repairs were made, and the affected surfaces were thoroughly cleaned. Unfortunately, the carpeting is still affected by the mold despite numerous deep cleanings. For the health, safety, and well-being of everyone who uses the building—especially our children and teens—we need new flooring in this building.
The Parish Council has decided to replace the existing carpet with adhesive Luxury Vinyl Flooring (LVT) with a wood-look finish. Moisture testing confirms that the concrete pad beneath the carpet is suitable for the new flooring. We have received three bids and are currently selecting a contractor. The project will include removing and disposing of the existing carpet, preparing the concrete, and installing the new flooring and base trim. Our goal is to have the project completed by the end of September.
We are very grateful to our Ladies Guild for generously donating $10,000, which is a slightly more than half of the project cost. We now need the support of our parish family to raise the remaining funds. Please consider donating whatever amount you are able to give.
PLEASE NOTE: If donating by check, please write "R.E. Building Flooring" in the memo line. If donating cash, please place it in an envelope clearly marked "R.E. Building Flooring." This is very important so that we can be sure your generous donation is directed to the correct fund.
This is our building, and we envision so many wonderful opportunities for our growing number of children and teens, as well as additional programs and activities for adults. Your generosity will help us create a safe, welcoming space for our entire parish community. Once the project is complete, we will host an Open House to celebrate and showcase the newly renovated space.
Please reach out to any Parish Council member with questions. Parish council members: Fr. Radko, Deacon Paul, Deacon Douglas, Jeff Pakutz, Mary Musko, John Pocchiari, Stephanie Dano, Bill Trapp, Kevin Allen, Bob Babick and Amanda Stavish. Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and support!
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING 6/8/2026 - Minutes: Fr. Radko started the meeting at 6:35 with an opening prayer. Members in attendance were: Kevin Allen, Bill Trapp, Bob Babick, Stephanie Dano, John Pocchiari, Jeff Pakutz and Mary Musko.
POINTS OF DISCUSSION:
RECTORY ROOF: Repair and shingling of rectory roof. Todd Bourdelais will be the contractor for this project. There will be two contracts of $7,500 for each phase. Other roofers were called for an estimate and were not interested for this project.
PARISH CENTER FLOORING: An estimate for new flooring for the entire Parish Center has been received from Butler Floor & Carpet in the amount of $20,700. It is noted that there is mold in the current flooring. Deacon Paul got this first bid. We would like to get additional bids.
CHURCH CLEANING: Jeff Pakutz and John Poccchiari received three bids for cleaning of the church. The council agreed unanimously to accept the bid from Rainbow Cleaners. The bid was very fair for the service to be rendered. Also, this company has a strong and positive reputation for cleaning many other churches in Butler. They have a current certificate of insurance. The other two bids were considerably higher.
CURRENT AND FUTURE PROJECTS: From the previous month's meeting, Jeff reported that $100,000 in expenses are projected for necessa'y parish repairs. This would be a ten-year plan. He is willing to speak at church about these projects and ways to raise funds. Kevin Allen suggested signage to show the progress of funds received for the projects.
CHURCH TREE REMOVAL: We are still waiting to hear from Butler Forestry for the removal of the tree close to the church. Fr Radko will reach out to them again.
FUNDRAISER: A fundraiser for a monthly lottery ticket was mentioned. This would be a parish-wide fundraiser. Bob Babick will gather information for this project. The month of February would be the ideal month for this project.
HALL CLOSET CLEANING: Bill Trapp would like to organize the cleaning and organizing of the closet located between the two bathrooms in the church basement. The kitchen storage closet was also mentioned in need of cleaning and organizing. A leaning light pole was also mentioned in need of attention.
FLAG DAY: Preparations for Flag Day were discussed. Stephanie Dano gave details for this event.
LADIES GUILD DONATION: Stephanie reported that the Ladies Guild will be presenting a $10,000 donation to the church. This donation will aid parish project expenses. Meeting ended at 7:40pm
